C&M Training Assessor Delivers the First SVQ in Waste Management to International Candidate

March 2010

C&M Training’s lead assessor, Craig Chandler has just completed
another first, the delivery and award of an SVQ4 in Waste Management
Operations to a candidate working outside of the UK. The assessment
(for Hazardous Waste Treatment) was completed in the Republic of Serbia
during an EU Funded Healthcare Waste Project.

Delivering a UK vocational qualification aboard is a complicated business
and SQA were involved from the start to provide advice and agree procedures.

The candidate, Victor Hristov (a Macedonian national) was employed
as Waste Technology expert on a 2 year; EU funded Healthcare Waste Project
in Serbia.

The award took over 12 months to complete and involved Craig travelling
to Belgrade to deliver a 2 day training course covering the underpinning
knowledge requirements of the award and again to carry out ‘on-site’;
assessments of Victor at the Healthcare Waste (HCW) Treatment Plant
at the Institute for Public Health (IPH) Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut in
Belgrade.

Victor Hristov (Left) is delighted to receive his “SVQ4 in Waste
Management Operations – Treatment Hazardous Waste” certificate
from his Assessor, Craig Chandler (Right) in Belgrade Serbia.
